INCE BERATES WREXHAM WINNER
Dons manager Paul Ince branded referee Clive Oliver's decision to allow Wrexham's winner "disgraceful" after his League 2 leaders were turned over at the Racecourse Ground.
Ince was left fuming after Phil Bolland jumped into Dons 'keeper Willy Gueret allowing Neil Roberts to chip home the winner with 19 minutes to go.
But despite being bogged down by a sodden pitch, Ince told his players he expects better and has challenged them to take maximum points from their two games next week.
He said: "The pitch was shocking and it made it level playing field.
"It was a scrappy game, it could have easily ended nil-nil but the referee's made a disgraceful decision for the goal.
"The goal itself was a fantastic finish but the lad Bolland has jumped right into Willy and the referee has to see that. I thought in the second half he was poor.
"It's like a cow-field out there and the groundsman said he hasn't been on it for 19 days!
"It didn't allow us to play our football but we still created a great chance for Colin Cameron to score early one and he should have done.
"But the more the game went on the worse the pitch got and it was always going to be a mistake that won the game. That mistake came from the referee and we'll have to put it down to experience.
"The pitch stopped us playing the way we wanted to play and allowed them to play how they wanted to play. Sometimes we have to overcome that but we didn't really battle hard enough for my liking.
"Nil-nil would have been a fair result but it's not what we've got and that's football.
"I'm far from happy with the performance and I've told the players that in no uncertain terms. But you have to remember we're in a great position so going in there and throwing cups and saucers is not the way to do it.
"The players are down, they're hurting, they know it was a great opportunity in the last two weeks and they haven't done the business.
"It's now up to them to go into the games against Rochdale and Macclesfield at stadiummk next week and get six points."
