Away day specialists MK Dons brought Millwall's winning run to a grinding halt with a 4-0 thumping at the New Den.
Teenage striker Sam Baldock scored at the end of each half, either side of an own-goal from Millwall skipper Paul Robinson after Sean O'Hanlon's early opener.
It was another vintage away performance from the men from MK, who once again bounced back from a defeat to take maximum points in the following game.
Four times the Dons have recorded victories immediately after defeats this season, leaving boss Roberto Di Matteo wondering where they would be if his chameleon side could find some consistency.
Today they completely destroyed a Millwall side that had won its last five games and conceded just one goal in their previous four.
With the disappointment of last week's home defeat to rivals Peterborough fresh in their minds, the Dons looked like they meant business from the first whistle.
Debutant Luke Chadwick was providing most of the inspiration, drifting in off the left flank at will and attacking Millwall from wherever he received possession.

Sean O'Hanlon hooks the Dons in front at the New Den. |
Millwall had a winger of their own that caused the Dons some early problems and had Lewis Grabban found the far corner rather than dragging his shot wide when well placed on five minutes, the game could have been entirely different.
But Mark Wright's testing cross won the Dons a corner down the right hand side and the visitors snatched the initiative.
Peter Leven provided the ammunition with the first of a host of pacy, in-swinging set-pieces that Millwall never truly managed to deal with. Ali Gerba made a nuisance of himself at the near post and O'Hanlon hooked the ball in off the bar from five yards.
It was the perfect start for Di Matteo's men, who were now safe in the knowledge that Millwall would have to take risks to get back into the game.

Sam Baldock battles for possession with Paul Robinson. |
The midfield battle got a bit heated with tackles flying all over the park and Chadwick became the first six players to be booked on the day with a cynical trip on David Martin.
With his defence performing impressively in front of him, Dons 'keeper Willy Gueret was not called upon until the 22nd minute, but his smart one-handed save from Grabban's volley was a timely one.
Try as they might to mount some pressure, Millwall's attacks broke down before they could get threatening as O'Hanlon, supported by Miguel Llera and flanked by Dean Lewington and the outstanding Shaun Cummings, resisted their advances.
Dons continued to look menacing on the break and Wright should have doubled the lead on 44 minutes when he met Chadwick's pullback from the left, only to see Millwall 'keeper David Forde block very well with his feet.

Luke Chadwick runs at the Millwall defence on his Dons debut. |
But Chadwick's influence was growing and he carved out the second in first-half stoppage time, beating his marker down the left before slicing the Lions defence with a pass in behind.
Baldock was onto it in a flash and instinctively rounded Forde before sliding into the net with a typically confident finish.
Fired up by the home supporters, Millwall came out as you would expect in the second half - full of enthusiasm if not much quality.
Grabban gave Gueret something to do with a weak effort from range before seeing another shot blocked by Lewington and when debutant Gifton Noel-Williams failed to reach an easy ball down the right flank, home hopes waned.

Paul Robinson puts past his own 'keeper under pressure from Ali Gerba. |
Those hopes went from waning to dashed just after the hour mark as the Dons again broke with pace. Gerba held the ball up well on halfway to send Baldock into space before chasing in behind onto his strike partner's throughball.
Robinson looked to have the situation under control despite Gerba breathing down his neck, but failed to realise his 'keeper was advancing and stabbed it past Forde to make it three.
It was all over bar the shouting and the increasing number of empty seats in the New Den showed the home fans knew it. The away supporters on the other hand, were loving it.

Sam Baldock helps the ball over the line for his second and the Dons' fourth. |
Dons never looked likely to let the clean sheet slip away as they showed their determination to close the game out. Alan Navarro came into his own, picking up numerous loose balls in dangerous areas before Millwall could take advantage of them.
Then with the seconds ticking away, Wright's deflected shot looped up over Forde who could only stretch to push the ball onto the bar.
Di Matteo said after the game that Sam Baldock was "a lucky boy" for seeming to be in the right place at the right time.
But some would call that an art form, and the 19-year-old was Johnny on the spot again to bundle in his seventh goal of the season.
