MK Dons manager Danny Wilson said when he was appointed that the relegation struggle would go to the last game of the season and his prediction was proved spot on with the Dons win at London Road coupled, with Oldham's defeat and Torquay's win, meaning there's still all to play for come next Saturday.

Two goals from Izale McLeod after a stunning opener from Nicky Rizzo secured the three points, and the fact that keeper Matt Baker did not have to make a direct save all afternoon was further proof that this was indeed a comprehensive win for the visiting team.

Wilson made one player change to the line-up that was so unlucky to lose against Bristol City, Nicky Rizzo coming in on the left wing and Dean Lewington dropping back to left back to replace Leon Crooks, and right from the start it was clear the MK Dons meant serious business, McLeod shooting wide after jus three minutes.

Five minutes later the early endeavour brought dividends when Rizzo latched on to a loose ball and moved forward to lash a superb 20-yarder past keepr Mark Tyler.

im goal 1.jpgWade Small and Gary Smith then had shots blocked before the Dons added another after 20 minutes, McLeod arriving unmarked at the far post to stab home a Smith free-kick.

Baker was a spectator throughout the half as the Dons controlled matters, with Clive Platt sidefooting a good chance wide on his return to London Road just before the interval.

The pattern of play was much the same in the second half, with the home team struggling to put together any moves of note as the Dons continued to run the show.

Gareth Edds moved forward unchallenged to lash in a left-footer that was well saved by Tyler, Small beat four players on a dazzling run before Tyler blocked his fierce drive, then seconds later McLeod had a far post effort superbly tipped around the post by the overworked home keeper.

It was all the Dons as the game moved on and after 86 minutes McLeod made it three when he raced on to a through ball from Smith to neatly slot the ball past the advancing Tyler.

It was no more than the Dons deserved. McLeod joined Rizzo on the bench as manager Wilson introduced`Crooks and Craig Westcarr to add some fresh legs and as the sun beat down then the Dons strode to a victory that was loudly received by their enthusiastic and large following.

It was a superb all round display and more of the same next Saturday against Tranmere could ensure that the season has a happy ending after all.
