ANDREWS: POSH NOT ON OUR MINDS
Dons skipper Keith Andrews says his team are not thinking about promotion rivals Peterborough, despite the nip-and-tuck battle for League 2 top spot.
Andrews bagged his 12th goal of the season in Monday night's 2-1 win at Chesterfield, a result that saw the Dons return to the summit as the lead changed hands for the fourth time in a week.
Peterborough have the chance to regain the initiative at Brentford tonight as both sides head towards a titanic tussle at stadiummk on Good Friday.
But Andrews won't be looking to events at Griffin Park tonight, as the Dons' destiny remains very much in their own hands.
He said: "We haven't worried about anyone else all season, we're not really thinking about Peterborough too much.
"We'll stay focused on ourselves because we know if we win every single game we'll win the league.
"We're more than capable of winning games week in and week out and we've got players like Wrighty, Kev Gallen and Drissa to come back.
"The squad will get stronger in the coming weeks and I think we'll finish strongly.
"It's important we keep the pace up and make sure we're not leaving it to the last few games to get wins to get promoted.
"It's vital to get the wins out the way to get to where we want to go, just like we did tonight."
Monday night's win was a result typical of the Dons dogged consistency of late - grinding out wins by the odd goal in difficult surroundings.
And, having only returned from a two-match suspension in the win at Saltergate, Andrews said the team have done superbly without him.
He said: "It's gone very well in the last couple of games, the lads have been fantastic picking up six points out of six against tough opposition.
"Chester came and made life hard for us and going to Grimsby was like Chesterfield - never an easy place to go.
"The surface at Chesterfield was decent but the swirling conditions don't make it a nice place to play football.
"You've got to come to these places, roll your sleeves up and grind out results."
"It's a fantastic result and I'm just delighted to be back."
