Dons manager Roberto Di Matteo was full of praise for new signing Florian Sturm following his performance against Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday night.

Having been on trial with the Dons for a week, winger Sturm made his second stadiummk appearance against the Owls, opening the scoring with a fine early goal.

The Club confirmed the Austrian's signing on a two-year contract on Wednesday morning as Di Matteo made the former FC Vaduz man his first new acquisition.

And the Italian was impressed at how quickly Sturm made an impact for his new Club.

He said: "Florian has only been with us a week and played two games in four days, but he's already showed us what he can do.

"He will give us some more quality, he's got a good left foot and he'll give us some extra width on that side.

"He's very good on the ball, he works hard and if he can get a few goals for us that will be a bonus."
