Gareth was born in Australia and began his career in England with Nottingham Forest as a trainee in 1998, where he played in 17 matches. He is a workhorse midfield player who joined the Dons in the summer of 2004 following spells with Swindon Town and Bradford City. Gareth has developed a reputation for critical late goals in his time with the Dons - probably best known for his late, late goal against Tranmere Rovers, which kept the team up on the last day of the 2004/5 season.
