A proper old-fashioned left winger, Lloyd was born in Birmingham in 1982 and began his career as a trainee with West Bromwich Albion. Although limited to cameo substitute appearances at the Hawthorns, Lloyd became a favourite with the fans and played an important role in helping the Baggies reach the Premiership. He is an exciting and pacy player who made an instant impression on the Dons faithful with two goals against Brighton in pre-season last summer while on trial, leading to the club offering him a two-year contract.
Lloyd's direct style and eye for goal saw him become a favourite with the Cowshed faithful last season and he provided one of the season's iconic moments when he celebrated with a massive Dons following after his stoppage-time equaliser at Barnet.
